Day of Caring makes a difference for the Mid-South Local volunteers from area organizations dedicate a day of work to the nonprofit community through United Way's Day of Caring, the Mid-South's largest single-day community service event.
Among many hands-on tasks to improve people's lives, the volunteers rake yards, cut lawns, visit animal shelters and interact with children, the elderly and those with special needs. Volunteers say they appreciate both the opportunity to see where United Way support is at work to improve people's lives, and the chance to give back to the community by becoming personally involved.
