United Way of the Mid-South relies on our corporate partners to walk alongside us in our mission of creating opportunity for all. We’re happy to highlight some of the innovative ways our new and existing corporate partners are running their workplace campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we can do more good than any one of us can do alone!

We are thrilled to kick-off a campaign this year with Fayette County Schools! The new superintendent of Fayette County Schools, Dr. Vesie Hamlet, has a passion for giving back to the community and was thrilled about the opportunity to engage and bring much needed resources to Fayette County. Dr. Hamlett has requested virtual campaign meetings for all nine schools and the central office. With over 600 employees, this will indeed be a positive impact for the community.

A big shout out to Trustmark Bank for continuing to help our neighbors with an unexpected $5,000 COVID Donation. This is above and beyond their annual workplace campaign and corporate gift. Their commitment to their community and trust in United Way continues to shine through. Thank you Gene Henson, Louise Barden and Dean Puryear for your outstanding generosity throughout the years!

We would like to welcome one of our newest partners, Triumph Bank. With Will Chase at the helm, the Triumph Community Development Foundation has granted $10,000 to our Free Tax Prep (FTP) program. These dollars will be used to cover the costs of our Mobile Tax Prep sites. Every year, our FTP program provides free tax preparation by IRS certified tax preparers for low-to-moderate income individuals and families. Those interested should call 2-1-1 from their cell phone to find their nearest Mobile Tax Prep site.

Each year Paragon Bank holds a Chairman’s Challenge as part of their workplace campaign. The Chairman of the Board will match any employees increased pledge, and/or any new givers. This year, their message of “Now More Than Ever” impacted so many employees that the results of this year’s campaign were double that of last year. Way to go Paragon Bank, and thank you to Craig Weiss for offering such a fun and meaningful incentive!

Raymond James conducted their annual workplace campaign in December with a creative approach for a virtual campaign. United Way provided customized videos that shared success stories from our COVID-19 Economic Relief Fund, Driving the Dream and our Community Impact Fund. This information was strategically pushed out to employees over the course of their campaign which allowed our United Way to provide more impactful data and reach more employees. Thank you to John Petty, Joe Barkley and Lisa Levi for all of your support!

View Glass, in Olive Branch, Miss., has definitely shown their commitment to serving the community this year!  Their engagement events have included a major toy drive, a food drive, and most recently, a coat, hats and mitten drive – with all donations going to United Way agencies. Thank you View Glass for all you are doing for our neighbors in need!

LifeDoc is a local non-profit organization that works with the underserved population in Memphis and the Mid-South. They provide services to patients who struggle with barriers such as lack of transportation as well as money for medication and education. Their focus is to expand quality and data-driven healthcare with a focus on compassionate care for everyone.  LifeDoc will kick-off their first campaign with our United Way with a collection drive for face masks, hand sanitizer and cleaning products and end with an employee workplace campaign. So thrilled to partner with a company that shares our same passions for the Memphis and surrounding areas!
