Truist Financial Corp. has named Jean Morton as its new Memphis market president. 

Morton has more than 30 years of experience, which includes managing government and nonprofit relationships for SunTrust Bank.  Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Truist has more than a dozen Memphis-area branches.

“We’re confident Jean will bring strong leadership to the overall success of the Truist team in Memphis,” said Johnny Moore, Truist Tennessee regional president. “She has vast experience in commercial banking that will accelerate Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities.”

Morton serves on several boards, including United Way of The Mid-South, Leadership Memphis, Southwest Tennessee Community College Foundation and The Village at Germantown.

“I love the greater Memphis area and I’m passionate about helping clients and our community grow and prosper,” she said. “I want this community to know about Truist’s expertise and capabilities. We work as one team to collaborate with our clients, providing them with industry-wide expertise delivered locally.”

Truist’s footprint spans 17 states plus Washington, D.C., and has $531 billion is assets.
