Women United are planning their third annual Women’s Shelter Collection Drive in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. Women who are victims of domestic violence often leave their homes quickly without packing. All they take with them are their children and the clothes on their backs.

From Sept. 1st through the 24th, Women United is collecting necessary items needed by women fleeing abuse. The drive takes place all month and there are four ways to help:

  1. Host a United Way Domestic Violence Shelter Collection Drive at your workplace or with your friends and family. Sign up here.
  2. Click on our Amazon list to purchase items for contact-free delivery to our United Way.[check link]
  3. Collect supplies from the list below and drop them off at United Way Plaza, 1005 Tillman Street, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 1-24.
  4. Make a donation towards the purchase of domestic violence shelter supplies by texting NOMORE to 40403
