United Way of the Mid-South is proud to be part of the “My Brother’s Keeper” and Pathways to Success opportunity summit event next Thursday, June 22nd from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The My Brother’s Keeper Alliance national alliance connects African-American, Latino, and other teens and young men (16-29) to job opportunities. The program has been successful in other cities and we know that success in Memphis can create an impact for many people who are living in poverty. You can visit the My Brother’s Keeper website at http://mbkamemphis.com/
The event is at the Cook Convention Center, 255 N Main St, Memphis, TN 38103 and we’re recruiting participants, employers, and volunteers! Visit our page at the Volunteer United engagement center at http://bit.ly/2st2Aoe
Over 650 teens and young men 16-29 years old will have opportunities to interview with employers for on-the-spot hiring (with over 400 job opportunities), access community resources and social services, and participate in career preparation and leadership development training.
We are proud to partner with the City of Memphis, FedEx, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Greater Memphis Chamber, Workforce Investment Network, and other groups on this special opportunity.
