- $22,000 in additional support for United Way
- President & Publisher George Cogswell named new Marketing & Communications Chairman
The Commercial Appeal’s generosity for the 2013-14 United Way fundraising drive continues beyond the generous support of employees and the newspaper’s support of donated space for United Way messages in Sunday editions of the paper.
Earlier today, The Commercial Appeal presented a check to United Way for $22,000 to help selected local charities that are making a difference in people’s lives across our community.
This morning, President and Publisher George Cogswell, who serves on the United Way Board of Directors, accepted the call to provide leadership for our United Way’s messaging as the new volunteer Chairman of Marketing and Communications. Cogswell replaces Lee Meredith, Vice President and General Manager of WMC-TV who is leaving our area to oversee CBS affiliate WAFB-9 and WBXH-16, a MyTV station in Baton Rouge, LA.
