United Way staff and volunteers were saddened last week to learn of the passing of Bill Taylor, a longtime United Way volunteer champion, Board member, and Committee chairman. Taylor had served on the United Way Board regularly since the late 1980s in numerous leadership positions and was most recently the volunteer chairman of our Human Resources committee.
Taylor’s service with United Way was one of many ways that he supported the Memphis and Mid-South community. He was also a long-time volunteer for The Urban League and held numerous volunteer positions with nonprofits in our area.
The Commercial Appeal provides more details on Taylor’s amazing life and his work for people across our community.
